Patria to Start Vehicle Parts Manufacturing in Latvia
Defense company Patria will establish vehicle parts manufacturing in Latvia by partnering with local firm EMJ Metāls.

Defense and aviation technology company Patria has announced it will begin manufacturing vehicle parts in Latvia. The company has signed an agreement with EMJ Metāls, a local firm specializing in sheet metal processing.
The parts manufacturing agreement is connected to a joint research and development agreement for an armored vehicle system signed in October between Finland, Latvia, and Patria. Jussi Järvinen, President of Patria's Land business unit, stated that involving local industry in the project is a natural continuation and part of Patria's operational approach.
"We are now building a unified supply chain from both existing players in Finland and new ones in Latvia that will support our activities in all of our projects," Järvinen said. EMJ Metāls is described as the largest company of its kind in the Baltics, with a 2019 turnover of 15 million euros.
Through this partnership, Patria aims to strengthen its supply chain and leverage Latvian industrial capabilities. The company operates internationally with locations in several countries, including Finland, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, Estonia, and Spain.
