Patria Unveils 6x6 Vehicle at Eurosatory Exhibition
Defense company Patria has launched its new Patria 6x6 multi-purpose transport vehicle at the Eurosatory 2018 exhibition. The vehicle is designed for modularity and adaptability to customer needs.

Helsinki – Defense and security solutions provider Patria introduced its new Patria 6x6 multi-purpose transport vehicle at the Eurosatory 2018 exhibition in Paris on June 11, 2018. The vehicle is designed to modernize the principles of its predecessors, such as the Patria Pasi armored personnel carrier.
The Patria 6x6 is intended to complement Patria's existing vehicle fleet, including the well-known Patria AMV 8x8. The new 6x6 shares components with the 8x8 version but features one less axle. It utilizes three driven axles, with steering available for the front two or all three axles, depending on the configuration. The vehicle can be equipped with various protection levels, including ballistic and mine protection, and can be fitted with weapon systems, such as the Patria Nemo 120mm mortar system.
With a maximum payload capacity of 8.5 tonnes, the Patria 6x6 offers ballistic protection up to STANAG Level 4, providing defense against heavy machine gun fire. Its mine protection is noted as superior to previous Pasi models. The vehicle can accommodate a crew of 2-3 and transport up to ten combat troops, depending on its internal layout. The driver's cabin is designed to be user-friendly with truck-like controls.
Patria highlights the 6x6 as a simple, cost-effective solution with durability based on its predecessor's legacy. Its manufacturing technology is unified, allowing for final assembly and outfitting by a partner in the destination country. The vehicle meets NATO standards and is suitable for various missions, including peacekeeping operations. Patria also offers life cycle support services for the 6x6.
"There has long been demand in the market for a successor to the Pasi armored personnel carrier, which has been in production since the 1980s," said Janne Räkköläinen, Vice President of Vehicle Systems at Patria's Land business unit. "The new 6x6 brings the basic principles of its predecessor into the present day, with its multi-functional transport capacity and modularity that adapts easily to the customer's needs."
