Patria's Aircraft Engine Maintenance Draws Global Interest
Defense company Patria is expanding its aircraft engine maintenance services beyond Europe. The company's expertise in repairing and maintaining Pratt & Whitney F100 engines has generated demand in new market areas.

Defense group Patria is increasing its international business in aircraft engine maintenance services. The company's Belgian unit, PBEC (Patria Belgium Engine Center), which specializes in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of Pratt & Whitney F100 fighter engines for the F-15 and F-16, has attracted interest outside of Europe.
Patria's customer base includes the air forces of approximately 15 countries, and the company is now actively seeking to expand its business into Asia, as well as North and South America. According to the company, its strong expertise and long history in engine maintenance offer a competitive advantage in the market.
"The promise 'when if is not an option' perfectly suits our aviation services globally. We are the natural partner for defense sector customers and their critical operations," stated Janne Räkköläinen, Senior Vice President for Market Area World at Patria.
The company anticipates significant demand, particularly for the maintenance of F-16 fighter engines, as many air forces are expected to operate these aircraft for another 10 to 20 years. Additionally, Patria is preparing for engine assembly and maintenance projects for the F-35 fighter in collaboration with Pratt & Whitney.
