Patriot Dynamic Systems (PDS) has launched Adaptive Kinetics, a bolt-on active suspension system for heavy-duty trucks ranging from three-quarter-ton to Class 5. The system replaces traditional leaf springs without requiring frame modifications.
Ponderay, Idaho – Patriot Dynamic Systems (PDS) has introduced Adaptive Kinetics, a bolt-on active suspension designed for heavy-duty trucks from three-quarter-ton to Class 5. This system aims to replace traditional leaf springs without the need for cutting, welding, or altering the truck's frame.
The Adaptive Kinetics system offers enhanced performance capabilities, including self-leveling up to 33 degrees, over 20 inches of wheel travel, and 44 inches of articulation. It is backed by a 10-year, 1,000,000-mile warranty on its shock absorbers, indicating a focus on durability.
Developed over nine years by PDS, a veteran and engineer-owned company, the suspension system reportedly operates in two modes: a progressive rate for towing and hauling to manage squat and sway, and a linear rate for a smoother ride when unloaded. The active components monitor road conditions to adjust damping and ride height automatically.
Installation is designed as a straightforward bolt-on process, estimated to take 20 to 24 hours. The system is intended to be removable, allowing it to be transferred to a new vehicle. Orders for Ford and Ram applications are now open, with initial deliveries commencing, while GM applications are slated for December 2026.
