Patterson Foundation Gifts $250,000 for Venezuela Earthquake Recovery Aid
The Patterson Foundation has donated $250,000 to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) to support medium- and long-term recovery efforts following recent devastating earthquakes in Venezuela.

Sarasota, Fla. – The Patterson Foundation has provided $250,000 to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) Global Recovery Fund. The contribution is designated to bolster medium- and long-term recovery initiatives for communities impacted by twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela in June.
The earthquakes, measuring magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5, struck near Venezuela's Caribbean coast, causing widespread destruction. The disaster damaged or destroyed tens of thousands of buildings, displaced thousands of residents, and claimed over 3,500 lives as of early July. The affected regions were already facing significant humanitarian and economic challenges, compounding the recovery needs.
"Our hearts are with the people of Venezuela as they face the difficult journey of recovery following this devastation," said Debra Jacobs, president and CEO of The Patterson Foundation. "We understand that true recovery takes months and years of sustained commitment. Through CDP's Global Recovery Fund, we can help ensure that families and neighborhoods have the resources they need to recover with resilience and hope."
The CDP Global Recovery Fund addresses the often-underfunded medium- and long-term needs following disasters, including infrastructure rebuilding, mental health services, and economic recovery. The Patterson Foundation has been a consistent supporter of CDP since the fund's inception in 2019, with this latest gift reflecting an ongoing commitment to disaster recovery philanthropy.
