Paul-Gerhardt-Haus day care produced jam and cake
Clients at Paul-Gerhardt-Haus day care received a large batch of cherries from a visitor. The harvest resulted in homemade jam, cake and shared enjoyment.

At Paul-Gerhardt-Haus day care, a unique moment was celebrated in July when a visitor brought a substantial amount of fresh, juicy cherries. This unexpected gift provided an opportunity for the day care clients to engage in a communal cooking project.
The group immediately initiated a project to create homemade cherry jam. Clients worked collaboratively, pitting the fruit. This collective effort resulted in the production of sweet jam and the enjoyment of fresh cherries prior to processing. A delicious cherry crumble cake was also prepared for the afternoon coffee break.
"It was a day full of joy, tradition, and shared time," stated a release from Johanniter Unfall Hilfe e.V. The activity reportedly fostered a sense of community and brought enjoyment to the day care's routine. The homemade jam will be used to sweeten breakfast rolls in the coming weeks.
