Paulig Sells Risenta to Midsona to Focus on Growth Categories

International food and beverage company Paulig has finalized the sale of the Risenta brand, its intellectual property, and related business to Swedish consumer goods group Midsona AB (publ.). The transaction, initially announced on March 31, 2026, was completed on June 1.

This divestment is part of Paulig's strategic initiative to concentrate on its core growth areas: World Foods and Tex Mex categories. The Risenta brand, established in 1940 and acquired by Paulig in 2015, offers a range of products including seeds, kernels, specialty flours, and breakfast items primarily sold in the Swedish market.

The sale encompasses the Risenta brand, intellectual property rights, and the associated business. The transfer of production lines, raw materials, and packaging materials to Midsona is scheduled to occur later in 2026. Paulig has confirmed that no employees from Paulig or its subsidiary Santa Maria AB will be transferred as part of this transaction.

In 2025, Paulig reported sales of approximately EUR 1.39 billion and employs around 2,700 people across 13 countries. Midsona focuses on developing and marketing health and well-being brands, with its shares listed on Nasdaq Stockholm.
