Paulig to Sell Risenta to Midsona, Focusing on World Foods and Tex Mex
Paulig has agreed to sell its Risenta brand, intellectual property, and related business to Swedish consumer goods group Midsona AB. The sale aims to sharpen Paulig's focus on its World Foods and Tex Mex categories.

Global food and beverage company Paulig has agreed to sell its Risenta brand, intellectual property, and related business to Swedish consumer goods group Midsona AB. The transaction, expected to be completed on June 1, is part of Paulig's strategic move to concentrate on its World Foods and Tex Mex categories, which are identified as key drivers for long-term growth.
Founded in 1940, Risenta offers a range of products including seeds, kernels, specialty flours, and breakfast items, primarily in the Swedish market. Paulig acquired the Risenta brand in 2015. The sale allows Paulig to further specialize its resources and efforts on business areas with higher growth potential.
"Paulig’s growth and results are primarily driven by World Foods and Tex Mex, and this is where our ambition lies going forward," said Lenita Ingelin, SVP Branded Business Area at Paulig. "Selling Risenta allows us to further sharpen our focus, while ensuring that the loved Risenta brand continues to develop where the strategic fit is strong."
Midsona, which focuses on health and well-being brands, sees the acquisition of Risenta as a strategic enhancement to its existing portfolio and a support for its growth ambitions. The transaction encompasses the Risenta brand, its intellectual property, business operations, and related production lines. No employees from Paulig or its subsidiary Santa Maria AB will be transferred as part of the deal. The completion of the transaction is subject to approval from the Swedish Inspectorate of Strategic Products.
