PAX and Wink Integrate Biometric Payments into PAX Devices

Payment terminal manufacturer PAX Technology and biometric identity and payments platform Wink have expanded their collaboration. The new integration allows enterprise clients to design and deploy their own face and palm-based biometric enrollment and checkout processes using PAX's PxRetailer and PxDesigner applications.

The solution enables full customization of the entire payment flow, from initial enrollment to final confirmation, and can be deployed on all camera-enabled PAX devices without the need for separate biometric integrations. This specifically streamlines the customer experience for quick-service restaurants, hospitality, retail, and entertainment businesses.

Wink aims to transform anonymous card transactions into identified customer experiences. "The merchant sells to a card, not a customer. With Wink, the anonymous cardholder becomes a known customer, with no card, phone, app, or manual entry needed," said Matt Marino, President, WinkPay. This speeds up queues and increases customer loyalty by offering a faster, more personalized service.

PAX Technology and Wink will showcase their solution at events in Anaheim in October and New York in January. Wink is already available on all camera-enabled PAX terminals, exceeding 110 million units globally. With the solution, customers enroll once via the merchant's website or app and can then be recognized at any camera-equipped PAX terminal across the merchant's locations.
