PB Fintech reports Q2 profit growth amid rising operational costs

PB Fintech, operator of Policybazaar, posted a 43% profit increase to Rs 192.4 crore in the second quarter as insurance brokerage growth offset credit market volatility.

2 November 2026

Indian insurance and credit marketplace operator PB Fintech reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 192.4 crore for the quarter ended September 2026, marking a 43% increase compared to the same period last year. Revenue from operations reached Rs 2,177.7 crore, a 35% rise year-on-year.

The company’s core insurance business remains the primary revenue driver, accounting for 93% of total operating income. Total insurance premiums processed through the platform grew by 38% to Rs 9,385 crore, with strong demand for health and term insurance policies contributing to the growth.

Conversely, the Paisabazaar credit segment experienced a divergence between revenue and loan disbursals. While revenue for the credit business increased by 18%, total loan disbursals fell by 46% to Rs 4,739 crore compared to the previous year. The company cited a focus on core online loan disbursals despite the decline in aggregate figures.

Operating expenses grew 33% to Rs 2,067.7 crore. Notable expenditure increases included a 59% jump in advertising and promotion costs and a 29% rise in employee benefits. PB Fintech continues to scale its emerging business units, which include PB Partners and its international operations in the UAE, generating Rs 842 crore in revenue during the quarter.
