PBKreviews Disassembles Samsung Galaxy S26 FE: Camera Lens Cover and Battery Made More Serviceable

The PBKreviews YouTube channel released a video on September 22nd detailing the disassembly of the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE. The device received a high repairability score of 9 out of 10, suggesting improvements in its serviceability.

During the teardown, it was found that the camera lens cover on the Galaxy S26 FE can be replaced independently. This means that a damaged lens cover can be swapped out without needing to dismantle the entire phone, a departure from previous designs. This modification simplifies the repair process for external components.

The phone's battery is still secured internally with an adhesive structure. However, Samsung has incorporated pull tabs on the battery itself, which aid in separating the battery from the adhesive layer during removal.

Additional openings have been added to the mid-frame surrounding the rear camera module. These openings increase the contact area between the chassis structure and the internal graphite sheet, potentially improving thermal management. The speaker and microphone openings are covered by mesh screens, which may offer protection if a SIM eject tool is accidentally inserted into the wrong aperture.
