PDi Communication Systems Launches Patent-Pending Android 15 TV Box for Healthcare

PDi Communication Systems, Inc., a US-based manufacturer of hospital televisions since 1980, has launched a patent-pending, UL-listed healthcare-grade TV Box. The company aims to address a growing demand from hospitals seeking to upgrade their existing TV infrastructure and deliver a smart room experience to patients.

The new TV Box operates on the Android 15 operating system, providing what PDi describes as a more modern, secure, and upgradeable platform compared to consumer-grade alternatives. It features 8 GB of RAM, intended to enhance the stability and uptime of services such as IPTV and WebView content for virtual care applications. This meets stringent safety and performance requirements for healthcare settings.

Additionally, PDi offers its GENiO cloud-based device management tool, allowing staff to remotely configure and control TV and OS functionalities while providing patients with entertainment and educational content. The company highlights patent-pending features including a built-in RF tuner and IPTV player, a pillow speaker port for private listening, and dual video output for secondary displays.
