Peak XV Partners Launches Twelfth Surge Accelerator Cohort

Venture capital firm Peak XV Partners has launched its twelfth cohort for its accelerator and incubation program, Surge. The latest cohort features 18 startups from India, the US, and Southeast Asia, operating across diverse sectors including AI, robotics, space, consumer, healthcare, music, and fintech. Notably, three of the selected startups are currently in stealth mode, withholding public details about their operations.

Seven of the startups in the Surge 12 cohort originate from India. Rajan Anandan, Managing Director at Peak XV Partners, commented on the cohort, stating, "What stands out about Surge 12 is that these founders are building these companies on first principles. They are questioning whether the underlying experience should work that way at all."

The Surge program was initially launched in 2019 when Peak XV operated as Sequoia Capital India & SEA. Since its inception, two cohorts have been launched annually. The program provides startups with seed capital up to $5 million, alongside company-building workshops, access to a global community, and a curriculum delivered by experienced operators. Surge 12 is the first cohort to benefit from Peak XV's increased investment ceiling.

Peak XV Partners manages a capital portfolio exceeding $9 billion across 13 funds, with investments in over 400 companies primarily in India and Southeast Asia. The firm has backed 36 companies that have successfully completed initial public offerings (IPOs) to date.
