Pearson Acquires Workera for AI-Driven Skills Assessment
Pearson has agreed to acquire Workera, an AI-native skills intelligence platform, to enhance its enterprise offerings. The acquisition aims to help companies manage workforce transformation in the era of AI.
Pearson, a global learning company, has announced its agreement to acquire Workera, a company specializing in AI-native skills intelligence. Workera's platform is designed to help enterprises verify the demonstrated capabilities of their workforce.
The acquired company utilizes agentic AI, psychometrics, and adaptive assessment to measure proficiency through role-specific simulations. This technology is expected to bolster Pearson's ability to support businesses undergoing AI-driven transformations and reflects the company's ongoing investment in enterprise skilling.
Vishaal Gupta, President of Enterprise Learning & Skills at Pearson, stated that assessing and developing skills is crucial in the AI era. "Workera has pioneered a new approach to continuously measuring and validating workforce capabilities," Gupta said. He added that the combined expertise will strengthen Pearson's capacity to help organizations address skills gaps and foster more agile workforces.
Workera currently serves major clients including ServiceNow, Accenture, and the United States Space Force. Upon completion, Workera will be integrated into Pearson's Enterprise Learning & Skills business unit. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Palo Alto, California, Workera employs approximately 60 individuals. The acquisition is anticipated to close in the second half of 2026.
