Pennsylvania Brands Unite for Manufacturing Day

Three well-known Pennsylvania manufacturing brands, CHANNELLOCK, W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company, and Zippo Manufacturing Company, have joined forces to celebrate Manufacturing Day on October 2. The initiative aims to spotlight the people, skills, and communities behind products made in the state.

With a combined history exceeding 355 years, these three companies operate manufacturing facilities in Meadville and Bradford, Pennsylvania, collectively employing over 1,150 individuals within the state. To mark the occasion, they have released a limited-edition set featuring an iconic product from each brand: CHANNELLOCK pliers, a Case pocket knife, and a Zippo lighter.

CHANNELLOCK, a maker of tools since 1886, remains family-owned and operates out of Meadville. Case has manufactured knives in Bradford since 1905, and Zippo has produced its signature lighters in the same city since 1932. All three companies emphasize the pride and craftsmanship of their local workforces through this collaboration.

"Manufacturing is more than a location on a label. It's people showing up and taking pride in work that lasts," stated William S. DeArment, Chairman and CEO of CHANNELLOCK. The partnership with Case and Zippo is viewed as a means to recognize the strength of Pennsylvania's manufacturing sector and the individuals contributing to its products.

The companies continue to invest in their local operations and workforce development, training the next generation of employees. Their ongoing presence in Meadville and Bradford underscores the significance of manufacturing in western Pennsylvania and the communities they call home.
