Pentagon Releases Fifth Batch of Declassified UFO Files

The U.S. Department of Defense has unveiled its fifth tranche of declassified documents related to Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP), previously known as UFOs. This latest release comprises over ten previously undisclosed video recordings, three images, and 20 PDF files, with a historical scope extending from 1953 up to the current year, 2025.

Among the highlighted materials are several videos depicting unexplained aerial events. One recording from 2021 captures a spherical object moving at high speed over the Gulf of Oman, noted to be approximately 1.2 meters in diameter. Another video, filmed in 2025 in the Middle East, shows a circular object flying in a straight path over a residential area.

The released files also contain witness accounts and reconstructed depictions. One document details an experience from a former military pilot in 2023, who reported observing unusual lights alongside other aviators during flights over the Atlantic. Older documents from the 1950s analyze footage of two objects whose characteristics did not align with natural phenomena.

Additionally, the release includes three illustrations based on firsthand descriptions of encounters, such as one depicting a large, dark triangular craft with lights at its corners. The Pentagon has stated that further batches of declassified UAP documents will be released.

This ongoing release initiative reflects a resurgence of interest in UAP in the United States. In 2022, Congress held hearings on the subject, prompting the military to commit to greater transparency. The release of hundreds of documents is part of this broader effort.
