Pernod Ricard has announced the expansion of its drinks portfolio through a partnership with Italicus, an Italian aperitif brand founded in 2016. The award-winning liqueur is made from naturally sourced ingredients and has an alcohol content of 20% ABV.

Since its launch, Italicus has gained recognition among mixologists for its unique flavor profile and versatility in cocktails. It is also positioned as a premium, low-ABV spirit for consumers. Drinks International recognized Italicus as a top-trending liquor brand in 2019-2020.

Giuseppe Gallo, the founder and CEO of Italicus, will continue to lead the brand's development. This acquisition marks the latest in a series of strategic portfolio additions by Pernod Ricard, which previously included brands like Monkey 47 gin and Del Maguey mezcal.

The move reinforces Pernod Ricard's focus on specialty brands with strong growth potential. The company anticipates that its global distribution network will play a significant role in accelerating Italicus's international presence and sales.
