Pernod Ricard India, in collaboration with Reforest India and the Indian armed forces, has planted over 1300 trees as part of its Project Sanrakshan initiative. The project focused on planting trees at Air Force and Army units, as well as an Army Public School in Bangalore, India. The initiative was announced in late February 2022.

The planting involved over 1300 native, flowering, and fruit-bearing saplings, selected for integration into the regional biosphere, and were planted across defence estates. Pernod Ricard India stated the initiative aims to address environmental responsibilities and conserve natural resources threatened by infrastructure development.

The tree plantation drive was presided over by Major General J V Prasad and Brigadier Kanwar Amarjeet, with approximately 60 officers, students, and Pernod Ricard India employees in attendance. Major General J V Prasad highlighted the importance of ecosystem preservation for the Indian armed forces and local flora and fauna, commending Pernod Ricard India for their proactive environmental efforts.

"We believe in being a 'Business for Nature' and work towards restoring and rejuvenating degraded and deforested land in our watersheds," said Sashidhar Vempala, Head Sustainability & CSR at Pernod Ricard India. The project is part of Pernod Ricard India's broader commitment to corporate responsibility and support for the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
