Pernod Ricard has agreed to sell its Minttu liqueur and other local Nordic brands produced in Turku, Finland, to Hartwall Oy Ab. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of June 2025.

Pernod Ricard, a global leader in spirits and champagnes, has announced an agreement to sell the Minttu liqueur and its portfolio of local Nordic brands produced in Turku, Finland, to Hartwall Oy Ab. The deal also encompasses other spirit, wine, and liqueur brands, including Lapponia liqueurs, various berry and fruit wines, and glögg products.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to finalize by the end of the third quarter of fiscal year 2024/25, no later than June 2025. Financial details of the sale were not disclosed. This divestment aligns with Pernod Ricard's strategy to concentrate resources on its international premium spirits and champagnes, which are identified as key growth drivers for the company.
Hartwall, a subsidiary of the Danish group Royal Unibrew, is a prominent Finnish beverage producer. This acquisition is expected to strengthen Hartwall's position in the Finnish market by expanding its brand portfolio and production capabilities. The company plans to integrate the acquired assets into its existing operations.
Pernod Ricard stated that the sale is part of its ongoing strategic evaluation and active portfolio management, aimed at creating sustainable value for its stakeholders. The company's focus remains on its core premium brands and international markets.
