Pernod Ricard to sell international wine portfolio to Australian Wine Holdco

Pernod Ricard has entered into an agreement to divest its global wine brands to Australian Wine Holdco Limited, as the spirits giant shifts focus toward its premium alcohol portfolio.

4 November 2026

French beverage firm Pernod Ricard is offloading its international wine assets to Australian Wine Holdco Limited (AWL), an investment consortium that also owns Accolade Wines. The move marks a strategic retreat from the wine sector to concentrate resources on the company's core spirits and champagne brands.

The divestment includes established labels such as Jacob’s Creek, Brancott Estate, and Campo Viejo, spanning operations in Australia, New Zealand, and Spain. The business platform being sold integrates everything from vineyard management to bottling, with an annual output exceeding 10 million cases.

This transaction reflects Pernod Ricard’s broader premiumization strategy. By streamlining its portfolio, the company aims to enhance long-term value for shareholders. The deal remains subject to regulatory approvals and is anticipated to close in the first half of 2025.
