Pernod Ricard UK Launches Second Altos Margarita Masters Competition
Pernod Ricard UK is holding its second annual Altos Margarita Masters competition, inviting bartenders to create Margarita cocktails inspired by personal stories. Regional heats conclude this month ahead of a London final.
Pernod Ricard UK has announced the return of its Altos Margarita Masters competition for a second year, seeking out the best Margarita cocktails created by industry professionals.
The competition invites entries inspired by personal stories or experiences, with a grand prize of a trip to Mexico, the home of tequila. The contest follows a series of four regional heats, with winners advancing to a final event in London in November.
Participants must use a minimum of 35cl of Altos Plata or Altos Reposado tequila in their creations. The winner of each regional heat will receive a £1,000 cash prize. Entrants must be employed within the hospitality industry.
James Bremner, On-Trade Channel Director for Pernod Ricard UK, stated that the competition aims to build advocacy within the trade and solidify Altos' position in the growing tequila market. He noted the Margarita cocktail's increasing popularity among consumers, recently entering the top ten most ordered cocktails.
