Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer Inc. has released a series of updates and statements reflecting its diverse research and development pipeline. Recent announcements include regulatory milestones for its COVID-19 vaccine and new therapeutic treatments.

In May 2026, the European Commission authorized an update to the pediatric use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. This followed an assessment by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

Earlier in March 2026, Pfizer's HYMPAVZI received a positive opinion from the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) for a once-weekly treatment of adults and adolescents with hemophilia A or B who have developed inhibitors. This marks a step toward potential new treatment options for hemophilia patients.

Beyond therapeutic advancements, Pfizer's philanthropic arm, The Pfizer Foundation, announced in January 2026 an expansion of its breast cancer initiative into Kenya and Ethiopia. The foundation committed $10 million in grants to support healthcare systems in these regions.

The company has also consistently provided updates on its COVID-19 vaccines, addressing topics such as myocarditis and vaccination in pregnant women. Furthermore, Pfizer has shared updates on regulatory reviews for cancer therapies, including the combination of TALZENNA with XTANDI for prostate cancer, and research progress on treatments like inclacimab for sickle cell disease.
