P&G to Launch New Waterless and Plastic-Free Brand DS3
Procter & Gamble (P&G) is launching DS3, a new beauty brand designed to be entirely waterless and plastic-free. The brand will feature a range of sustainable personal care and home products.

Consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble (P&G) is set to introduce DS3, a novel beauty brand formulated without water and packaged without plastic. This initiative aims to provide environmentally conscious home and personal care solutions.
The DS3 product line will consist of solid-form items, such as cleansing bars for face, hair, and body, which are activated by water upon use. The manufacturing process eliminates water from the final product, significantly reducing weight by up to 80% and transportation emissions by approximately 75%. Packaging is designed to be biodegradable and recyclable.
This launch addresses growing consumer demand for sustainable and natural products, coupled with a desire to reduce plastic consumption. P&G also suggests the technology may reduce the need for preservatives, contributing to product safety and efficacy.
Initially slated for a 2019 debut, the DS3 range is expected to encompass various household cleaning and personal care items, including hand soap, face wash, shampoo, conditioner, and laundry detergent. The company has secured over 30 patents related to this proprietary technology.
