PharmEasy Parent Company Narrows Loss by Shifting to Higher-Margin Businesses
API Holdings, the parent company of healthtech firm PharmEasy, reduced its consolidated net loss by 67% to Rs 520 crore for the fiscal year ended March 2026, driven by a strategic shift towards more profitable business segments.

API Holdings, the parent entity of healthtech startup PharmEasy, reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 520 crore for the fiscal year ended March 2026, marking a 67% reduction from the Rs 1,572 crore loss in the previous fiscal year. This financial improvement is attributed to the company's strategic pivot towards higher-margin businesses, including diagnostics, hospital management systems, and generic pharmaceuticals.
Revenue from operations saw a 13% increase, reaching Rs 6,619 crore compared to Rs 5,872 crore in the prior year. This growth was bolstered by the company's entry into the quick commerce sector, attracting customers with higher margins, and by more effective utilization of existing warehouses, sales infrastructure, and marketing investments.
The company generates income from two primary streams: products and services. Product sales, encompassing pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter (OTC) items, surgical supplies, and private label goods, amounted to Rs 5,670 crore in FY26. Service revenues, derived from diagnostics, teleconsulting, and technology services, contributed Rs 941 crore.
API Holdings operates in both pharmacy distribution and diagnostics. Its B2B operations, through subsidiaries Ascent Health and AknaMed, supply pharmaceutical products to pharmacies and hospitals, generating Rs 4,082 crore in revenue during FY26. The diagnostics arm, Thyrocare, reported a revenue of Rs 240 crore in the first quarter of FY27, a 24% year-on-year increase.
The direct-to-consumer platform, PharmEasy, which facilitates online sales of pharmaceuticals and cross-sells diagnostic services, posted Rs 1,335 crore in revenue for FY26. Despite an 11% rise in the cost of goods sold, total expenses for API Holdings saw a slight decrease, totaling Rs 7,147 crore for the fiscal year.
