Phase III study shows sac-TMT increases progression-free survival in lung cancer patients

Results from the phase III OptiTROP-Lung06 study, presented at the ESMO congress and published in The New England Journal of Medicine, demonstrate that sacituzumab tirumotecan (sac-TMT) provides significant clinical benefits for patients with advanced lung cancer. The study highlights a notable improvement in progression-free survival (PFS) compared to current chemotherapy standards.

According to the data, the risk of disease progression or death was reduced by 51% in patients receiving sac-TMT. The median PFS reached 15.0 months in the treatment arm, significantly outperforming the 5.7-month median PFS observed in the control group.

The findings provide new data on the efficacy of antibody-drug conjugates in treating lung cancer. This trial marks a critical update in the clinical landscape for oncology, offering a potentially more effective therapeutic path for patients who have exhausted traditional treatment options.
