Phil Hoffmann Travel, a travel company, has gained an exclusive early look at Western Sydney International Airport (WSI), Australia's newest international gateway, ahead of its passenger opening on October 25, 2026. The visit, facilitated by Singapore Airlines, provided insight into the facilities travelers can expect.

WSI marks Australia's first major greenfield airport development in over five decades. Designed to accommodate up to 10 million passengers annually, it will operate 24/7, enhancing flexibility for domestic, international, and freight services. The terminal integrates domestic and international operations under one roof, featuring a modern design and advanced technologies, including biometrics, to streamline the passenger journey from check-in to boarding.

Jetstar is scheduled to operate the airport's first commercial flight to the Gold Coast on October 25, followed by Air New Zealand's inaugural service to Auckland on October 26. Initial international routes also include Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, and Nadi.

The preview visit coincided with the upcoming launch of Singapore Airlines' services. The carrier will begin daily non-stop flights between Western Sydney and Singapore on November 23, 2026, using an Airbus A350-900. Flight SQ202 is scheduled for a late evening departure from WSI, arriving in Singapore the following morning. This addition brings Singapore Airlines' total Sydney-area services to five daily flights, offering passengers increased travel options.
