Philandart Studio debuts virtual K-pop group for US audiences

South Korean-based Philandart Studio has introduced HYPEVERSE, a five-member virtual pop group. The project is designed to integrate elements of K-pop, anime-style visuals, and AI-driven production specifically for American Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences.

The group’s debut single, "Weirdo," was released on October 7, 2026, through Universal Music Korea. The launch follows a notable industry award in Korea, where the project was named the most anticipated virtual idol group of 2027. The performers are programmed to communicate in fluent English to foster direct engagement with international fans.

Philandart Studio founder Simon Shin stated that the company aims to produce content that leverages AI technology to sustain creative engagement among younger demographics. The project highlights the increasing intersection of virtual reality technology and traditional music industry distribution models.
