Philippine Airlines (PAL), the flag carrier of the Philippines, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to join the oneworld Alliance. As the alliance's 16th member, PAL will enhance its connectivity in Southeast Asia and add 31 new destinations within the Philippines and beyond to the global network.

Industry leaders, including Robert Isom, CEO of American Airlines and chairman of the oneworld Governing Board, welcomed PAL's entry, highlighting its role in bolstering the alliance's reach in the Asia Pacific region. The Philippine carrier is expected to cater to growing customer demand across Asia, North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia.

"This is a defining and transformative moment for Philippine Airlines," said Lucio C. Tan III, President of PAL Holdings, Inc. "By becoming a member of the oneworld Alliance and strengthening Southeast Asia’s representation within the group, the Philippines and the region will be brought closer to the world like never before."

Members of PAL's Mabuhay Miles program will gain the ability to earn and redeem miles across all oneworld member airlines. Additionally, eligible customers will receive access to over 700 airport lounges, including oneworld's branded facilities in Amsterdam and Seoul.
