Philippines Tourism Authority Highlights Resilience and Recovery

The Department of Tourism Philippines is highlighting the country's ability to recover and remain a safe destination for travelers after a series of earthquakes affected various regions, including Cebu, Davao, Zambales, Surigao del Norte, and Bohol. The department stated that response channels were immediately activated, with local communities and agencies working together on safety and recovery efforts.

Tourism destinations across the Philippines reportedly continued operations with high safety and preparedness standards, according to the department. This was achieved through collaboration between national agencies, local governments, and industry stakeholders.

The campaign encourages international visitors to contribute to the recovery process. The department asserts that each tourist visit supports the economic recovery of affected provinces, aids in the restoration of tourism enterprises, and assists in community rebuilding.

To enhance the visitor experience, the Department of Tourism has also promoted its Travel PH App. This mobile application provides information on attractions, activities, accommodations, and dining options, along with travel guides and promotions.
