Philips Hue Bridge Pro devices bricked after firmware update; replacements offered
A firmware update has caused some Philips Hue Bridge Pro smart hubs to stop functioning. The company is providing free replacement devices to affected customers.

Philips Hue Bridge Pro smart hubs have reportedly been rendered inoperable by a recent firmware update. Ars Technica has confirmed that the update is the cause behind multiple user reports of devices failing after installation.
In late June, users began reporting that their Hue Bridge Pro devices were unresponsive, often displaying a solid red LED light. The problematic firmware, version 2071353020, was released by Philips in early June and was intended to bring "several small changes" to improve the device's performance.
Several customers shared their experiences online, with one Reddit user describing the update as having "bricked" their device, leaving it unusable. Philips Hue has acknowledged the issue and stated that it will provide free replacement Hue Bridge Pro units to those whose devices have been affected.
The company is working to resolve the situation and expedite the replacement process for its customers.
