Physical AI Startup SwitchOn Raises $8 Million for Manufacturing Inspection

Physical AI startup SwitchOn has raised $8 million (approximately ₹ 77 crore) in a pre-Series B funding round. The round was led by IvyCap Ventures, with participation from SIG Tattva and Trifecta Capital.

The company intends to utilize the fresh capital to accelerate its international expansion, deepen research and development in next-generation physical AI, and scale its go-to-market capabilities across global manufacturing verticals.

Founded in 2017, SwitchOn develops AI-powered visual inspection systems that use computer vision to automatically detect defective products on production lines. Its flagship platform, DeepInspect, can detect surface defects with sub-150-micron precision at speeds exceeding 1,200 products per minute. The startup reports that its technology is deployed across more than 170 production lines in 60 manufacturing facilities spanning four continents.

Manufacturers are increasingly adopting AI-powered vision systems to automate quality inspection and improve production efficiency. This trend is driving investor interest in physical AI startups that combine AI with cameras, sensors, and industrial equipment to automate manufacturing processes.
