PhysicsWallah Revenue Tops ₹1,000 Crore, Loss Narrows
Edtech firm PhysicsWallah reported its revenue surpassed ₹1,000 crore for the first quarter ending June. The company also managed to reduce its net loss year-on-year.
Edtech major PhysicsWallah (PW) announced its operating revenue crossed the ₹1,000 crore mark in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27, reaching ₹1,054 crore. This represents a 24.4% increase compared to ₹847.1 crore in the same period last year.
The company managed to reduce its net loss by 30.5% year-on-year, bringing it down to ₹88.3 crore from ₹127 crore in Q1 FY26. PhysicsWallah also turned EBITDA positive, reporting ₹52 crore for the quarter, a significant improvement from a loss of ₹21 crore in the prior-year period.
The online segment continued to be the primary growth driver, with revenue rising 33% to ₹549 crore. The K-12 and early learning categories within this segment saw an 88% jump in revenue. Conversely, the offline business saw revenue grow by 14.5% but remained in an EBITDA loss.
PhysicsWallah noted that the postponement and re-examination of the NEET UG entrance exams impacted online enrollment cycles. However, the company stated that online collections have increased significantly following the declaration of exam results. The company also expanded its strategic investments by acquiring additional stake in the UPSC coaching institute Sarrthi IAS.
