Pinneberg Approves Zoning Plan for New Central Hospital
The Pinneberg city council has definitively approved the zoning plan for a new central hospital, construction of which is slated to begin in 2030 and completion in the early 2030s.
Pinneberg, Germany – The city council of Pinneberg has given final approval to the zoning plan for a new central hospital that is planned to be built starting in 2030. The estimated cost for the project is approximately 750 million euros.
The Regio Kliniken healthcare group selected the site at Ossenpadd in Pinneberg for the new facility in 2023. This new hospital will consolidate the existing locations in Elmshorn and Pinneberg into a single, modern medical center. According to the city, the development of the zoning plan involved multiple draft proposals, public information sessions for residents, and environmental and traffic impact assessments.
The approved zoning plan provides Regio Kliniken with the necessary legal certainty to proceed with further planning. A European tender process for a planning firm is currently underway. Construction is scheduled to commence in 2030, with the planned relocation from the current hospitals to the new facility set for 2034.
This decision represents a significant step in modernizing healthcare infrastructure in the region, aiming to enhance medical services and patient care for the residents of Pinneberg and surrounding areas.
