Piramal Pharma Solutions has begun construction of a 4.3 MWp ground-mounted solar farm at its integrated active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and finished dosage form (FDF) site in Morpeth, United Kingdom.
The new facility will supply renewable energy directly to the site via a behind-the-meter configuration. This setup is expected to significantly reduce the facility's carbon emissions by generating clean energy locally. The solar farm is projected to be operational in the first quarter of 2024.
This investment is part of Piramal Pharma Solutions' broader commitment to enhancing its sustainability efforts and decreasing its environmental footprint. The company has set a target to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040.
