Pistol Shrimp Games Releases Free Combat Demo for Free Stars: Children of Infinity

Pistol Shrimp Games has launched a public demo for its space role-playing game, Free Stars: Children of Infinity. The game, which has been in development for five years, is an official sequel to The Ur-Quan Masters, created by the original game's developers.

The released demo showcases the game's "combat mode," similar to the "melee mode" in the original title. Players can assemble a fleet from a roster of nearly 40 ships and engage in arcade-style, SpaceWar-like battles against other players or AI opponents. Each ship within the game features distinct maneuvering characteristics, weaponry, and special abilities.

The demo is available for download on Steam and GOG for Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. Console versions of the full game are planned for a future release. Free Stars: Children of Infinity is described as a space adventure RPG, drawing inspiration from The Ur-Quan Masters, as well as its predecessors Starflight and Starflight 2.

This current release constitutes a segment of the complete game, allowing players to experience one-on-one combat scenarios. The full game is anticipated to offer a comprehensive role-playing experience aligned with the established legacy of the earlier titles.
