Pizza Hut Targets Millennials with $3 Pan Pizzas and Throwback Merch

Pizza Hut is attempting to win back millennial customers through a combination of a budget-friendly "throwback" menu and a line of retro-inspired merchandise. The campaign features personal pan pizzas priced as low as $3 and aims to tap into shared childhood memories.

The strategy seeks to appeal to a generation that grew up with Pizza Hut, particularly its "Book It!" reading incentive program. The chain aims to reverse a trend of stagnant sales and market share erosion to competitors like Domino's.

The "throwback value menu" includes over half a dozen items priced at $10 or less, with personal pan pizzas offered at a $3 price point. Complementing the food offerings, Pizza Hut is releasing a streetwear-inspired collection featuring items such as rugby shirts, t-shirts, and jackets.

For the merchandise line, Pizza Hut has partnered with New York-based brand Dinner Service. The collection will be available online through Dinner Service's website, with early access offered to Pizza Hut loyalty program members.

The rollout of nostalgic promotions comes as Pizza Hut undergoes an ownership change. The chain was recently sold by parent company Yum! Brands to private equity firm LongRange Capital.
