Plan-B Net Zero offers energy platform as a service

Plan-B Net Zero AG is extending its business model beyond traditional electricity supply by making its technology platform available to other companies as Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS).

The company has already secured its first PaaS customer, with another energy sector client now utilizing the technology. Talks are also underway with an international company in the Health & Longevity sector regarding a potential collaboration.

According to CTO Steven Rohner, the platform integrates energy supply, digital customer interaction, data-driven processes, and operational control within a unified architecture. For external partners, this provides access to an infrastructure to digitally build, manage, and further develop customer relationships. The NeoGate Portal serves as the platform's operating system, centralizing key data and processes, including energy flow management and partner network control.

The customer app acts as the user interface, allowing customers to submit meter readings and view payments, among other functions. It is deeply integrated with the NeoGate Portal, feeding all interactions into processes ranging from customer service to personalized offers. Plan-B's Data Engine creates technical and economic value by collecting and processing data from its own operations, customer interactions, and external sources like weather data and wholesale prices.

Rohner highlights that artificial intelligence is employed to transform large volumes of data into actionable insights, such as customer scores, recommendations, and churn risk forecasts. The platform's modular design supports flexible use beyond the energy sector, as seen in the planned expansion into Health & Longevity.
