PlayStation 5 emulation remains in its early stages, especially compared to the more mature PS3 and PS4 emulators. Recent progress with the SharpEmu emulator indicates it can now render the loading screen for Grand Theft Auto V, according to reports from MarcelMedia.

The development, showcased in a video, shows the game reaching its loading interface. While the game cannot proceed further, MarcelMedia expresses confidence that GTA V may become the first 3D game to successfully launch on SharpEmu.

This follows earlier progress where another PS5 emulator, KyTyPS5, was able to reach GTA V's menu screen. These instances suggest advancements in PS5 emulation, although a fully playable experience is still some way off.

The development of PS5 emulators is gaining attention, partly due to Sony's slowing pace of porting first-party titles to PC. While fully mature PS5 emulation is still in the future, the rapid pace of new developments from coding teams suggests a functional solution could become a reality, though demonstrations of actual playable content are still needed.
