Plusnet outlines growth strategy and fiber network opportunities to partners
Plusnet GmbH held its annual partner conference in Cologne in February, presenting its strategic direction and the role of fiber optic network expansion in its future.

Plusnet GmbH, a German telecommunications provider, hosted its annual partner conference on February 4th in Cologne, outlining its strategic roadmap and the opportunities presented by fiber optic technology. The event gathered approximately 70 sales partners to discuss market strategies and the company's plans for expanding its fiber network.
CEO Ulrich Hoffmann characterized the German fixed-network market as challenging, citing economic conditions and regulatory decisions that hinder the expansion of fiber optic infrastructure. He noted that only 30-40% of existing fiber optic connections are currently activated, emphasizing the need for higher activation rates for business viability.
Hoffmann stated that Plusnet aims to advance the telecommunications market as a digital service provider. The company's Netbridge platform aggregates fiber optic networks, making them accessible to marketers. Plusnet is also developing flexible, configurable solutions for retail customers. The company plans to complete its copper-to-fiber migration in 2026, ahead of many competitors.
The conference also focused on data-driven marketing and service improvements, including the introduction of new AI-related methods to enhance customer experience. The Netbridge platform was highlighted as an open access hub designed to standardize, automate, and scale the sale of fiber and broadband services across various network operators.
Plusnet intends to increase its fiber network coverage through Netbridge, having partnered with key infrastructure providers for nationwide reach. A new data-driven commercial intelligence model was also presented in detail, aimed at helping partners target their marketing efforts more effectively.
