Polymarket suspends trading following third-party security breach

Polymarket temporarily suspended trading on its international platform on Thursday following a security breach involving a third-party vendor. The service interruption lasted approximately one hour, after which trading resumed. The company stated that it would provide full reimbursements to any users affected by the incident.

Industry reports indicate the incident originated with DebugBear, a UK-based provider of website performance monitoring tools. DebugBear reported its own systems were compromised and advised clients to remove its embed code from their websites as a precautionary measure.

Polymarket has referred the matter to UK law enforcement agencies for further investigation. While the company maintains that the platform is operational, the event underscores the persistent risks associated with reliance on third-party supply chains in digital finance platforms.
