Ponsse Plc has launched co-operation negotiations covering its entire workforce in Finland, excluding its subsidiary Epec Oy. The move comes as the company seeks to align its operations with a weakened market environment that has left order books below the levels required to sustain current production output.

The company is evaluating production adjustments at its Vieremä facility for 2027, which may include temporary full-time or part-time layoffs for production and administrative staff. The negotiations, which involve 1,109 employees, aim to mitigate the impact of reduced profitability and market uncertainty.

CEO Juho Nummela stated that the firm must prepare for potential layoffs due to current demand challenges. Ponsse emphasized that the negotiations do not involve permanent redundancies and that the company intends to maintain its service operations and customer support throughout the upcoming period.
