Ponsse Oyj Half-Year Report: Sales Stable, Operating Profit Increases Significantly

Ponsse Oyj announced on August 12, 2025, its half-year report for January-June 2025, revealing that net sales remained flat at EUR 357.7 million, consistent with the prior year. The company's operating profit experienced a significant improvement, rising to EUR 20.6 million from EUR 0.6 million in the same period of 2024.

During the second quarter, Ponsse Oyj's net sales saw a slight decrease to EUR 172.3 million (EUR 188.0 million). Operating profit for the quarter reached EUR 7.4 million, a marked improvement from the previous year's loss of EUR -0.6 million. CEO Juho Nummela noted that market conditions were somewhat weaker than anticipated, negatively impacting net sales, but confirmed that active cost-reduction measures are progressing as planned.

The company's order book stood at EUR 192.5 million at the end of June, down from EUR 210.4 million in the previous year. The net result for the January-June period was positive at EUR 16.1 million, a significant turnaround from a net loss of EUR -11.7 million. Earnings per share improved to EUR 0.58 from EUR -0.42.

International operations accounted for 75.7 percent of net sales. The financial position remains robust, with the equity ratio increasing to 60.1 percent from 52.8 percent. Ponsse Oyj forecasts that its euro-denominated operating profit for the full year 2025 will be slightly higher than in 2024, when it was EUR 36.8 million.
