Ponsse to implement layoffs in 2027 following market decline

Forest machine manufacturer Ponsse has concluded cooperation negotiations in Finland. The company will prepare for temporary layoffs of up to 90 days next year due to a weakened market outlook.

30 October 2026

Finnish forest machine manufacturer Ponsse has finalized its statutory cooperation negotiations regarding its workforce in Finland. The talks were initiated to align the company's operational capacity with a predicted downturn in the market for 2027.

Following the negotiations, which concluded during week 44, the company and employee representatives agreed on measures including temporary layoffs for a maximum of 90 days throughout 2027. The agreement marks a proactive step to manage labor costs amid declining sector demand.

The industry has faced broader macroeconomic pressures, and Ponsse’s decision reflects a strategy to navigate the anticipated economic volatility in the coming year.
