PORR AG announced on May 24, 2016, that the 'Obchvat Nula' consortium, comprised of Cintra, Macquarie Capital, and PORR AG, has successfully completed commercial close on the Bratislava D4-R7 bypass project. This initiative is characterized as one of Central Europe's largest public-private partnership (PPP) infrastructure projects.

The project encompasses the construction of nearly 60 kilometers of road infrastructure. The estimated contract volume is approximately EUR 1 billion. Earlier in February, the Slovak Ministry of Transport had designated the consortium as the 'preferred tenderer'. Financial close for the project is anticipated in the coming weeks.

The 'Obchvat Nula' consortium will be responsible for the planning, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of the D4-R7 network under a 30-year concession. The project includes approximately 27 kilometers of highway (D4) and 32 kilometers of expressway (R7). Construction, managed by Ferrovial Agroman and PORR Bau GmbH, is expected to take roughly four years to complete.

This agreement marks a significant development for the multinational consortium, pooling expertise from Spain's Cintra, Australia's Macquarie Capital, and Austria's PORR AG. Such large-scale infrastructure projects are vital for regional transportation development and economic growth.
