PORR AG Receives B Rating in International Environmental Assessment

Construction firm PORR AG has once again earned recognition for its sustainability efforts, receiving a B rating from the international environmental organization CDP for its performance in both Climate Change and Water Security.

The company was acknowledged for its comprehensive action plan aimed at reducing its carbon footprint. CEO Karl-Heinz Strauss emphasized that sustainable construction is a core component of PORR's overall strategic concept, reflected in the company's Green and Lean corporate strategy.

CDP, a non-profit entity, is recognized for maintaining the most extensive dataset on corporate environmental actions. The organization confirmed PORR's transparency and coordinated strategy in addressing climate change. The company received an A rating specifically for its preparedness for future climate risks and in five other sub-categories.

PONN's commitment to sustainability is demonstrated through initiatives such as investments in renewable energy, participation in pumped-storage power plant projects in Austria and Germany, and advancements in timber construction and green building certifications. The active involvement of the company's top management, including a dedicated Sustainability Committee, reinforces the importance of responsibility within the organization.
