PORR to build Józef Piłsudski Museum in Poland – order volume EUR 16.5m
Construction company PORR AG has signed a contract to continue the construction of the Józef Piłsudski Museum and educational centre in Sulejówek, Poland. The project, valued at EUR 16.5 million, is scheduled for completion by early 2018.

Austrian construction firm PORR AG will continue the development of the Józef Piłsudski Museum and educational centre in Sulejówek, Poland. The company's Polish subsidiary signed the contract on May 23, 2016, for a project valued at EUR 16.5 million. The scope includes constructing the new museum building, restoring the heritage-protected Willa Bzów villa, and revitalizing the surrounding green areas.
PILSNed within an 18-month timeframe. This will allow for the handover of the modern museum and educational facilities in early 2018. The project is funded by a multi-year government program. PORR has a history of construction in Poland, having previously worked on projects like the Hotel Intercontinental and the Warsaw Finance Centre.
The design and build contract involves the construction of a three-story underground section for technical facilities and a three-story above-ground section. The above-ground structure will consist of two cuboids of identical height. Work on the museum's permanent exhibition is proceeding concurrently with the construction.
This contract provides PORR with another opportunity to demonstrate its extensive expertise in the Polish construction sector. Karl-Heinz Strauss, CEO of PORR AG, stated that the tender signifies significant confidence in the company's capabilities within Poland.
