PORR to construct section of Szczecin Western Bypass
Construction company PORR AG has secured a contract to build a section of the large-scale Szczecin Western Bypass (ZOS) project in Poland. The contract covers a road segment over 13 kilometers long.
Austrian construction firm PORR AG has been awarded a contract to build a section of the Szczecin Western Bypass (ZOS) project in Poland, one of the country's largest road construction initiatives.
The contract involves the design and construction of the Kołbaskowo–Dołuje section, which is over 13 kilometers long. The project is valued at approximately EUR 150 million, with a construction period of 41 months. The new bypass will feature two lanes in each direction.
Infrastructure development within the section includes two interchanges at Będargowo and Dołuje, as well as 18 engineering structures. Notably, eight wildlife underpasses and a 284-meter-long bridge crossing the Szczecin–Lübeck railway line are part of the scope.
The Szczecin Western Bypass is a key part of the S6 expressway development, aiming to enhance traffic flow and safety in the Szczecin metropolitan region of northwestern Poland. PORR has previously completed several significant infrastructure projects in Poland, including the Świnoujście tunnel.
