Porsche Halts Custom Orders for Taycan, Macan EV in China
Porsche has officially stopped accepting new custom orders for its Taycan, Macan EV, and new Cayenne EV models in China. Consumers can now only purchase existing stock or vehicles currently in transit.

Porsche has stopped accepting new custom configuration orders for its electric vehicle lines, including the Taycan, Macan EV, and the recently launched electric Cayenne Turbo models, in mainland China. Customers are now limited to purchasing vehicles currently in stock or en route from the manufacturer.
The new electric Cayenne Turbo and Turbo Coupé, which launched in April with official prices ranging from 1.118 million to 1.158 million yuan, are scheduled for initial deliveries between late 2025 and early 2026. Dealerships anticipate receiving their allocations in October. This move indicates a potential delivery gap for Porsche's electric vehicles in China until the end of 2026.
This decision coincides with a broader decline in Porsche's sales, particularly in China. In the first quarter of 2026, global deliveries dropped by 15 percent year-on-year, with the Chinese market showing a significant slowdown. China saw a 21 percent decrease in deliveries, equating to 7,519 vehicles.
Porsche's sales in China have contracted for four consecutive years. In 2025, deliveries fell to just under 42,000 units, a 26 percent drop from the previous year. This represents a nearly 60 percent decrease from the market peak in 2021. Despite the downturn, Porsche China CEO Alexander Pollich has stated the company prioritizes long-term development and brand value.
