The Port of Virginia is investing more than 130 million euros in 36 automated stacking cranes from Konecranes to enhance its capacity and efficiency. The order is booked for Q2 2023.

Konecranes Oyj has secured a significant order from the Port of Virginia® in the United States, valued at over 130 million euros. The deal includes the delivery of 36 automated stacking cranes (ASC).
This investment is part of the port's ongoing efforts to boost its operational efficiency and overall capacity, aiming to strengthen its position in the global freight market. The cranes are designated for the North Terminal project at Norfolk International Terminal.
The delivery of the cranes will be carried out in two phases. The first 18 units are scheduled for delivery by mid-2025, with the remaining 18 to follow by mid-2027. Konecranes will book the order in its second quarter of 2023 results.
The Virginia Port Authority, which operates the port, is a repeat customer for Konecranes. They previously received their first 30 automated stacking cranes in 2007 and ordered an additional 86 in 2016, demonstrating sustained confidence in Konecranes' port automation solutions.
