PowerBank has obtained the final environmental permit for its 6.86 MW Brooklyn community solar project in Nova Scotia. The environmental review is now complete, paving the way for construction to begin in Fall 2026.
The project represents a C$14 million investment in renewable energy infrastructure. It is supported by C$4.55 million in grants and tax credits from the federal and provincial governments, indicating significant backing for clean energy initiatives in the region.
This solar facility is projected to generate C$3.86 million in lifetime electricity savings for the local community. Annually, the project is expected to produce enough power to meet the equivalent needs of 628 homes, contributing to both energy independence and lower utility costs.
The successful permitting of the Brooklyn project marks a key milestone for PowerBank as it expands its portfolio of community-focused solar developments across Canada. The company aims to deliver tangible economic and environmental benefits through these initiatives.
